Japa Mala handmade from Palo Santo wood (Bursera Graveolens), with 108 round beads plus one Guru bead, knotted with natural thread and premium wool, finished with colourful handmade tassels. Beads 7/8mm; length approximately 65cm.
Used in Vedic and Hindu tradition for meditation and prayer: held in the right hand with a bead between the thumb and middle finger to count mantra repetitions, typically done with eyes closed.
Symbolic meanings: the tassel represents the energy of meditation; the beads (traditionally made from rudraksha, Palo Santo, sandalwood, semi-precious stones or plant seeds) and the Guru bead, the "thread of life", relate to Mount Meru; the knot represents the connection between all creation; the thread represents connection with the universe.
