Because Sanghuang chunks are dense and woody, they require hot water extraction to release their active elements:

• Decoction (Boiled): Use ~15 g, rinse, and boil in 500–750 mL of water for 30 minutes. The chunks can be reboiled 2–3 times to maximize your yield.

• Steeping (Tea): Use ~15 g, add boiling water, and steep for 30 minutes. Drink as a tea (200–300 mL daily).

• Tea (Powder): Use 3–5 g daily. Place in a tea bag and steep in hot water.
