Japa Mala handmade from Palo Santo wood (Bursera Graveolens), with 108 round beads plus one Guru bead, knotted with natural thread and premium wool. The Guru bead is finished with colourful handmade tassels. Beads 7/8mm; length approximately 65cm.
Used in Vedic and Hindu traditions for meditation and prayer, held in the right hand with a bead between the thumb and middle finger to count mantra repetitions.
Symbolic meanings: the tassel represents the energy of meditation; the 108 beads and the Guru bead, known as the "thread of life", relate to Mount Meru; the knot represents the connection between all creation; the thread represents connection with the universe.
